Simple Concept of GreenStar

Today with so much of awareness about Global Warming and Energy Crisis, we all try in our own way to reduce power consumption and eliminate energy wastage. We change our lighting at home from incandescent lamp to Compact Fluorescent lamp so that power consumption is reduced. But many of us are really unaware that Televisions that are indispensible part of our life today for sheer need of entertainment, continuously waste power. This wastage may be more than one Fluorescent Lamp burning continuously. GreenStar helps to save this wastage.

Function of GreenStar

After viewing the programs of choice the viewer switches off the Television by the remote. In this 'stand by' mode the Television is still connected to the mains and is consuming power. Consumed power at 'Stand-by' condition can be more than the power consumed by 4CFL lamps (Demonstration). This innovative design incorporates built-in intelligence in GreenStar enabling it to recognize power wastage at the 'stand-by' stage. If GreenStar is used with the TV, it disconnects the TV from the mains in stand-by condition and eliminates power wastage.

Set Top Boxes are also used with TV's, they also waste power, TV is in 'stand-by' condition. A single GreenStar disconnects both TV and STB together in 'stand-by' condition, thereby saving power and money.

Saving through GreenStar

An Individual using GreenStar for Television and Set Top Box, may save up to approx 288Units(KWH) per year.

If all the 120Million existing TV's and 25Million existing STB's are used with GreenStar, the potential of saving for India would be 2600 Megawatt power plant.

Saving in environmental terms would be equivalent to approx 400 Crore Kg CO2 emission.

Safety through Greenstar

Greenstar provides safety to your TV by isolating it from Mains in case of overload or short circuit condition. Short circuits have potential of fire hazard and damage to property and life. GreenStar is designed to provide saftey to short circuits in Televsion thus providing peace of mind.
